Is the 3d plate road legal ❔
Our 3d plate designs are all 100% street legal and comply with the British Standard for Number Plates (BS AU 145e). All plates are also complete with relevant markings and words to ensure that the end result is entirely compliant.
Our customisable options and bespoke finishes are only offered as they meet these strict standards. We also use an alignment bar when producing your 3D plate to assure that legal spacing and alignment have been achieved as part of a quality promise to our customers.
With Creata Plate, we don’t want you to spend unnecessary time researching your product. Instead, we have already done the work for you.

What is an illegal plate ❔
An illegal number plate is one which is incorrectly displayed. It could contain the wrong spacings, font, colours, style, material, and so on.
If your vehicle is displaying illegal or incorrectly displayed number plates, you could be fined up to £1,000 and your vehicle will fail its MOT test.
If you are a first-time offender, police will issue you with a ‘vehicle defect rectification notice’, giving you 14 days to get the plate made legal and get the form stamped by an official supplier, which then gets handed in to your local police station.
It is important to keep your private plate clean: if it gets cloned by criminals, you could receive speeding tickets or parking fines that do not belong to you. If this happens, return the tickets and fines to the issuing authority, and explain what happened, providing any evidence to prove this.
You should also contact the DVLA and the police if your private plate gets cloned, so they can retain this information in their records and help you
How is the 3d number plate made ❔
Our 3D number plates are made in 4 simple steps.
Firstly, we let you choose your design using our online ordering form, which covers all components that make up your plate.
Next, we produce a standard number as your personalised plate still needs to be the same colour and size. This also allows us to use the plate as a guide for your 3D letters.
We then install your digits using an industrial-strength adhesive, ensuring that letters are entirely secure. They are then left to dry and cure fully.
Finally, we finish with a quality resin which is then dried and quality checked upon completion.
Just like that, your new 3D number plate is ready to fit
Is a 3D number plate MOT compliant ❔
As mentioned, 3D number plates are fully legal and will pass an MOT if they meet the specifications outlined.
If your personalised plate is, however, made to a different colour, finish, or features different character spacing, you will fail the MOT. We not only ensure that plates meet the required standard, but our high-quality finish also exceeds these regulations as we want to make sure that you never experience issues with your Creata Plates product.
Do you Accept Returns ❔
Our 3D number plates are meticulously crafted to be unique and custom-made to order. We understand that your number plate is a reflection of your personal style and the specific details of your vehicle. Here's how our process works:
- Design Selection: We allow you to choose your design using our online ordering form, which covers all components that make up your plate.
- Standard Number Plate Production: We begin by producing a standard number as your personalized plate still needs to be the same color and size. This step also serves as a guide for your 3D letters.
- 3D Letter Installation: We install your digits using an industrial-strength adhesive, ensuring that the letters are entirely secure. They are then left to dry and cure fully.
- Quality Resin Finish: Finally, we finish with a quality resin, which is then dried and undergoes a thorough quality check upon completion.
Given the unique and personalized nature of our 3D number plates, we cannot accept returns, as they are tailored to your specific requirements. We recommend carefully considering your design choices and specifications before placing an order to ensure satisfaction with the end result. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact our customer support team, and we'll be happy to assist you. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we take pride in delivering high-quality, custom-made 3D number plates that you'll be proud to display on your vehicle.
